Francis Beardmore, William and Mary’s fifth son, was born on September 16th 1790 and baptised at Talke on September 26th.

He married Deborah Malkin on May 25th 1818. Francis was a farmer and he and Deborah had four sons and one daughter. We think that eldest son James, who was born in 1825, had a daughter Mary. His aunt Mary’s 1860 will refers to: ‘Mary, daughter of my late nephew James Beardmore (Farmer)’.

We have no reliable date of death for Francis or son James, although James was apparently dead by 1860.

In the 1861 census we found a Mary Beardmore (45) living in lodgings on Pulpit Hill in Talke, next to Francis’ brother Samuel. Perhaps she was James’ widow?
